The deadline for OxML 2020 has passed, however, you can still register your interest to attend our future events by completing the late application form.
Our main target audience include postgraduate students (Phd and MSc), as well as researchers and engineers in both academia and industry. The school is primarily designed for those with strong technical backgrounds (through studying and/or working in ML, CS, Stats, Engineering, Biomedical informatics, etc.) who are interested in broadening their ML knowledge beyond their current focus area.
We want to ensure an engaging and diverse audience. OxML participants are selected using a scoring system. Decisions are made stochastically, and applicants with a higher score have a higher probability of being accepted. The scoring system favours applicants who have more relevant technical knowledge, and whose research areas are closer to the scope of the Summer School. Our key objective is to contribute to more democratic development in AI (across geographies, industries and underrepresented [in tech] segments of the society); this will lead to additional selection criteria in addition to skills and personal statement in the application form.
All applicants will be notified of acceptance or rejection before mid June.
It has been decided to substantially reduce the registration fee for virtual OxML 2020:
Students (Phd and MSc) £30
Academics (faculty and postdocs) £50
Industry professionals £100
We have a limited number of scholarships aimed for full time students from developing countries and under-represented groups. Students are also encouraged to look to their affiliated institutions for additional funds to cover expenses. Should you need any sponsorship for the school fee, please don't hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
